The client and the goal
This is the story of a well-known American nonprofit that supports other nonprofits by connecting them to donors and companies. The client worked with many NGOs across the USA, but its network stopped at the border. To expand, it asked us to build a list of NGOs around the world it could collaborate with. It wanted to go global, and we gave it the tools to do it.
Our solution had multiple stages. Each used industry-grade data harvesting, but the key was how we gathered, cleaned, and shaped the data for the client’s needs. Our RPA solution investigated government websites in 64 countries and compiled a large list of both accredited and non-accredited charities.
The client only wanted accredited NGOs, so we filtered the data down, building that filter by finding legitimate sources in each country. The result was a clean list of accredited NGOs.
That list let the client help community-led organizations around the world access the tools, training, and support they need to make the world a better place.

A Google search gives you lists of NGOs for every country, but how reliable are they? The client wanted accredited NGOs only. To build a comprehensive, trustworthy list, we created systems for finding and understanding the right sources in each country. The result: a clean, reliable list of accredited NGOs.

Our expertise in building industry-grade automation across many different sources, including Forbes 500 companies and extremely well-protected websites, let the client acquire the data it needed seamlessly.
The solution used industry-grade data harvesting in several steps. Bespoke filters, applied while cleaning and shaping the data, meant the client only received information relevant to its mission.
The first step was finding the sources. Every NGO had to be legitimate and accredited, so our RPA solution scanned and analyzed government websites that list NGOs in each country. After investigating 64 countries, we had a large list of accredited and non-accredited NGOs.
The second step, and the hardest part of the project, was narrowing the list to accredited NGOs only. Accreditation had to be verified against multiple sources, so for every country we had to find a way to parse government websites and check each NGO’s status. Our team built a system that found the right sources for each country, filtered the data, and delivered a clean list of accredited NGOs.
With epctex’s end-to-end solution, the client retrieved all the data it was looking for. It expanded globally and was able to support fellow NGOs around the world, which means the project helped not just one charity but thousands. We are proud to have worked on it.
